Will writing in Kota Kinabalu

Say clearly who gets the house, the savings and the shop. Then no one has to guess.

What it is

A will is a signed paper that says who receives your property after you pass away, and who carries out your wishes. That person is your executor.

Who it is for

Anyone with a home, savings, a business or children. Also people with property or money in another country.

What you get

A will written around your wishes, after a talk with a planner. If you have assets abroad, ask how they can be covered. Will writing starts from RM600 + 8% SST.

Three quick questions

What happens if I have no will?

The law decides who receives your property, and it may not match what you wanted. Your family may also need to apply for permission before they can manage your bank accounts or your house. That can take a long time.

Who can be a witness?

Two adults who watch you sign. A person who receives something in your will, or their husband or wife, should not be a witness. Ask a planner how the signing is arranged.

What if I own property in another country?

Tell the planner where it is. Some countries have their own rules for property there, so ask how it can be covered before you sign.

Your next step: one WhatsApp message.

Ask the fee and the steps first. No need to commit anything.
